
Life goes on around 2:00 p.m. a typical afternoon on Squealer Farms that consists of 2500 acres of row crops / 1500 acres of corn & 1000 acres of soybeans
The farm utilizes Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to plant and fertilize in variable rates to maximize yields and control expenses.
Our Homestead consists of:
3000’ square feet two-story home with double attached garage
64’ x 96’ machine shed 64’ x 128’ machine shed/shop
Near 250,000 bushels of grain storage in 6 bins, and is expanding to 285,000 bushels. The grain system features a receiving pit which feeds an elevator leg to distribute grain to two bins on one side of the pit or to a wet holding bin for the dryer. The elevator leg is also used to remove grain from four storage bins to an overhead hopper bin for load out. A pneumatic system transfers dried grain from the dryer to the storage bins and will service the new bin under construction.
Currently finishes 1300 head of hogs per year in a 600 head curtain sided confinement barn. Expansion to 4000 per year is in progress by constructing two more finishing barns. These buildings are 41 feet wide by 122 feet long. They feature full slatted floors, deep pit manure storage, fully automatic feed, water and climate controls.
