John Deere Toy Grounds Maintenance Equipment
Its spring time and that means yard clean up time. What better way to clean up than with a John Deere lawn mower from Ertl. Ertl produced a great yard maintenance play set back in 1970. The set included a John Deere lawn and garden tractor, loader, dump cart, grader, blade and rotary broom. This exciting set retailed for around $10.00 in 1970. Today expect to pay around $900.00 for a pristine new in the box set like this.
About the Cover
The April 2007 Toy Tractor Times cover features Johnathan Dobis field worked John Deere 8530. Johnathan used an Ertl Authentic 8530 and painted it to look like it has worked hard in the mud and dust. Notice the detail Johnathan added by having clear areas in the windows where the wipers cleared away the dirt. The tractor is hooked to a drag made by Gordy Schultz. In Western Kentucky large horse power tractors pull drags at high speeds to level min-till fields ahead of big planters like the new 1/64 John Deere 26 row DB90 pictures in the background of the cover.
Toy Tractor Show.com celebrated its 7th Anniversary on April 27, 2007. Bill Walters, Ertl Farm Toys Managing Director has been involved with the website from the very start. Since the year 2000 Bill has shown great interest in talking with collectors through the website to share information and gain feed back from farm toy collectors.
