1/32 McCormick V-80 4-Q

The first thing that caught my eye about this replica was the size. For some reason I expected it to be a little larger. Even for a 1/32 it seemed small. However, I forgot that it represented the McCormick Vineland Series Tractors which tops out at 80 hp.

As shown in the photos it is highly detailed. If you look closely at the back of the tractor you can even see the row of hose connectors. The three point hitch is also very detailed.

The cab is very authentic and reflects the Ergonomic Cab that was designed for this tractor. I was pleased to see the cab glass and the highly detailed operator’s station. Even some of the operator’s controls are color coded. The cab has four running lights, warning flasher, mirrors, handrails, front and back windshield wipers, as well as a small tool box located just in front of the operator’s door. Another thing that caught my eye was the horizontal exhaust system that McCormick uses on these Vineland tractors. It is located right behind the steps and is painted gray.

Universal Hobbies did an awesome job on this replica. It was worth the investment to add it to my collection. This is especially true since it my understanding that McCormick is not allowed to have anymore replicas made. It seems there is some kind of legal issue regarding merchandise licensed with Case IH / Fiat. I have been told these replicas are not legal to sell in the United States anymore. If this is true then anyone having McCormick replicas in their collection is lucky… Happy collecting …….
