This month you will get an in depth look at J&S Farm Toys North Dakota Sugar Beet Farm Display in the Down on the Model Farm Article.  But what’s a farm without some live tractor action?!?  Hopefully you enjoyed our first Display Journal article in the January issue because there are three more exciting mini movies ready to go.

I had lots of fun working with Jason Jeffers and Jon Sampson of J&S Farm Toys in producing this month’s mini movie.  It was a great way to get to know some of Jay’s good friends.  There’s nothing like having so many bosses around about how carefully I needed to work to make this movie roll.

So just how do those mini movies work?  I had a first hand experience in developing one at the St. Louis toy show.  Jay wanted to show the sugar beet harvest as a  beet lifter moves across a field filling a semi truck.  So, we set out to work, and I will be darned if this process isn’t as hard as really working in the field.  We even had a few break downs and thank heavens they don’t cost as much as the real thing!

We rushed to get the beet harvest started while it still was day light knowing we had 2 other fields to see to before sundown.  We had green beans to pick and crops to plant!   Just like the real harvest rush, unforeseen breakdowns are inevitable.  It was my job to drive the Ford Genesis 8970.  I did my best to steer it, but I broke the axel off three times.  That Genesis 8970 super steer is super handy, but it does take some getting used to.  With a little J.B. Weld the tractor was underway; however, I was demoted to truck driving duty.  That’s okay I enjoyed driving the BIG RIG.

Don’t let me fool you into believing I am the only novice at movie making.  Jason and Jon were also in need of some acting lessons.  They found that mustard seeds can "crop up" anywhere, but after a little fine tuning, the movie rolled on without a hitch.

Being as Jason, Jon and I are now big "movie" stars, we’ll be happy to sign autographs at the next farm toy show.  Just sit back and relax as we present to you  the second installment of the ToyTractorTimes.com’s mini movie bringing in the North Dakota sugar beet crop.  You’ll see me rollin’ on out in my Big Rig.
