Time For Wheat
Welcome to the July 2007 Toy Tractor Times. This issue is jam packed with combine videos and articles as well as farm toy collecting news.

Toy Tractor Times TV visited Garnett and Newton farms in Hopkinsville, KY to film today’s big combines harvesting wheat. Make sure to watch webisodes of the big John Deere 9860 STS and CaseIH 8010 Axial-Flow combines in action. Toy Tractor Times TV also has video from AGCO of how a small grain stripper head works.

July is time for wheat harvesting. Toy Tractor Times has articles on combines to mark the season. Down on the Model Farm reviews wheat harvesting headers, Collect it All lists the White combines made by Scale Models, Keeping Current with 1/64 features Lexion combines and What’s it Worth brings you pictures and information on odd scale combines.

In an effort to expand Toy Tractor Times collectors information we have a new article series called My Collection. Each month we will review popular trends in collecting toy tractors in My Collection. July also begins new series on collecting Ford tractors by Denis Hurley of Ireland. Make sure to read our other informative collecting articles on 1/64 scale variations of mixer mills, Under the Scope on the Two Cylinder Club John Deere 530 and Ask Ertl on Show Edition tractors. Ertl also has big news this month on new Steiger 4wd models.

If you like to customize and build farm toys Jason Rhodes shares tips on building 1/16 chisel plow shanks, Rick Hartwell has information on building a 1/32 Sugarbeet Hartvester and Dave Tallon shows readers how to build a 1/64 Monster truck.

To complete out wheat harvesting issue the Toy Tractor Times is excited to announce a new 1/64 Farm Truck Series. To kick off the new line of no frills work trucks from Toy Tractor Times the first model is a red and white International Transtar II with East End dump trailer. A total of 252 highly detailed trucks will be produced by Die-Cast Promotions and released in October 2007. You can order and reserve this limited edition farm truck in the Toy Tractor Times webstore today.

In the August issue the Toy Tractor Times will introduce the 5th and final Big 70’s Power Tractor. The next Big 70’s Power Tractor marks Toy Tractor Times 24th Anniversary. Each year I give a few hints on the identity of the next tractor. The 2007 Anniversary Tractor comes from the end of the decade, features special tires to puts its horse power to the ground and has a European connection. I look forward to reading your guesses on Toy Talk.

Until Next Times…………….

I enjoy scratch building and customizing 1/64 combines that I grew up with and that are used in my neighborhood. I have scratch built a Gleaner F and Massey Ferguson 510 combine. I have custom built a John Deere 9650 conventional combine, New Holland TR 99, CaseIH 2188 and International 1460. I enjoy sharing my projects and like building combines that have not been offered in 1/64 for my personal collection.
