Back from the other Big Show
By Jason Hasert
Roy Lee and Audrey Baker along with their family put on yet another wonderful St. Louis Farm Toy Show on February 5,6, and 7 of 2005. This show is known as the friendly show because of the hospitality the Baker family shows to attendees and vendors alike. Toys of all sorts are on hand to purchase and there are exciting model farm displays to see.
Our feature article this month centers around John Schomburg’s 2005 show winning bean harvest display. Look for a full feature article telling the story of the green and dry bean harvest and a mini display journal movie showing a Pixall green bean harvester unloading into a waiting semi truck. John's display is one of our biggest display articles ever. We will also feature two of the junior division displays that stood out at the show.
Also this month we will report on a variety of new toys on the way from the Ertl Company. Ertl is setting new precedents in detail with three new Red Power precision models that we will review this month.
We are all looking forward to spring planting season. The April ToyTractorTimes.com will feature Adam Suntken’s 2005 St. Louis farm display in an action packed mini display journal. Also look for exciting 1/64 and 1/16 customs from St. Louis in the next issue. Make sure to tune in as the Big Iron starts rolling across the model farm to kick off the Spring rush.
Until the next “Times,”
Jay
