In the Country
By Stefanie Martin

“In the Country is a modular interactive display with a country setting including animation and sound. Pat and Darrell Reinwald of St. Peters, Missouri developed a fully animated countryside model for the entertainment of the young and old at farm toy shows. Several different items are shown from the perspective of a vehicle driving down a county highway. Visitors can be involved with the display mechanism as they operate many of the push buttons. Sounds of the country, the animation of many farm toys and vehicles give a person the true feeling of being in the country. A total of 28 items are active on the display. Eight of them are operated with push buttons.

Listed below are the items found on the display: building a house, digging a trench, a tractor pulling a stump, a man chopping a tree, Texaco billboard, woman hanging out wash, pick up truck stalled on the highway, flashing lights on a patrol car, barn with hay bails, men cutting wood, school bus with lights, boy climbing into tree house, children playing in the yard, bug zapper, blinking lights on a radar antenna, man welding on a Caterpillar bulldozer, flashing light on a water tower, raising bed on dump truck, man welding on a combine, several country sounds, and cows returning to the barn. Pat and Darrel have shown their “In the Country” display for the past two years at the St. Louis toy show. They also are available for other toy shows and you can contact them by mail at 295 Jungernann Road, St. Peters, Missouri 63376, or by phone at 636-447-6524.
