Back From The Big Show IV
The November Toy Tractor Times brings you the sights and sounds of the 28th National Farm Toy Show in Dyersville, Iowa. The big show is always fun event to see new releases, see the detailed displays and find special pieces for your collection.
The big excitement of the National each year is the display contest. There were main outstanding displays at the 2006 show from 1/16 to 1/164. This months photo gallery previews pictures of all the displays. The November Toy Tractor Times features Adam Suntken's 2006 National winning display. Adam's Squealer Farms Display features a unique night time scene using Challenger tractors and a Lexion combine.
The National Farm Toy Museum is always an interesting place to see during the National Toy Show. For 2006 the museum put together a display on the history of John Deere tractors through toys. The John Deere display gives the history of each decade of tractor history from the Waterloo Boy in 1918 to the John Deere 8030 series in 2006. The Museum plans to feature the history of CaseIH and AGCO brands in the future. Stefanie and I want to thank Steve Statz for heading up the Toy Tractor Times table at the National Farm Toy Show. Steve did an excellent job and we really appreciate his friendship. Thank you to Pete Asdit and Steve Statz for hosting the 5th Annual Toy Tractor Show.com Dinner at the big show. Stef and I missed visiting with all the Toy Talk members and are glad every one had a chance to visit and unwind after the show.
The Toy Tractor Times is a proud supporter of the National Farm Toy Museum. Each year T.T.T donates the proceeds of from the sale of a chrome Anniversary tractor to support the museums programs. This years sale of the chrome Spirit of '76 Case brought $2,600 for the National Farm Toy Museum. In November 2007 we will auction a chrome '76 International 1066 to support the museum. The December Toy Tractor Times highlights the stand out new toy from 2006. Each of the toy manufacturers had stand out new products this year. What were your favorites? Was it Ertl's John Deere 1/16 4630 or the 1/32 International 4366. Spec-Cast's High Detail Series is gaining popularity with each new new model.
