I’ve always liked the John Deere, as I have the Masseys, when ever I have seen one out and about around the countryside. A rich dark green colour with a yellow flash across the bonnet and bright yellow wheels make this machine stand out a mile away, a great site. With Siku’s John Deere 6920s you get the same look, just smaller!

This particular model was built by the German company, Siku, whose models in recent years have vastly improved in quality. The model has a solid feel to it, as most of them do, even in its box, but you notice this more over older models and brands when you unleash it into your world.

The model has the authentic color scheme of the John Deere range, the rich green colour and that yellow streak. On the bonnet of this green monster, which can be opened to reveal some engine detail, is the famous JD logo, positioned squarely on the grill as on the real thing, also the little silver guide for centering the tractor is on top. The model number and additional decals along the sides, denoting 6920s give it extra character, a true replica!

The exhaust on the JD is plastic as is the grill, which, on a positive note has the headlights built in and not decals which I feel look a lot better. The rear decals could do with a little more effort though as there isn’t much to look at, just painted lights which don’t look so great. On the cab all work lights are shown and also folding wing mirrors. This model has the standard Siku front hitch for the range of implements available but can be swapped out for a fixed weight or one that fits directly onto the hitch. Steering can be done via the mudguards or steering wheel. This can be accessed from the side doors on the partially glazed cab. The wheels are rubber as most of their other models but the only real down side is that Siku is stamped on them, twice, in big letters.

There are other models available with loaders (6920 & 6820) and also a Siku farmer plus which comes with a driver and a few more finishing touches like engine detail, a front weight and number plate, in German of course!. My farmer plus has had row crop wheels fitted for spraying and row crop planting.

Positive: Authentic model, compatible with other brands implements which is a bonus.
Negative: A few more decals on the rear, possible front hitch raised or modified so it’s higher up for non field work, Siku stamped on tires.

Overall score: 9 / 10 only because there are more versions to get

Cheers for your time and I hope you enjoyed the review!!
