The Toy Tractor Times is proud to introduce the International Harvester ® Farmall® Hydrostatic 656 as its 28th Anniversary Tractor. The Ertl® Prestige Series® 1/16 Farmall ® Hydro 656 will be the fourth model in the Toy Tractor Times Legends of the 20th Century Series. The all new die-cast tooling by Ertl will feature an authentic International ® 282 cubic-inch diesel engine, hydrostatic transmission, detailed operators station, IH® fender radio, working 3pt hitch, removable front weights and much more. International Harvester’s ® 66 hp Farmall ® Hydrostatic 656 is a legend because it was first hydrostatic drive row crop tractor on the market. The Farmall® Hydro 656 was produced from 1967-1972. This popular tractor was the ultimate to own because a Hydro 656’s All-Speed Drive could run from 9 mph in reverse to 20 mph forward with a push of a lever. The Speed Ratio (SR) control lever on a Hydro 656 allows it to operate from zero to 20 mph under a load or with no load ,with no clutch, and without touching the throttle. The farther the driver pushes the SR control the faster the 656 goes. Hydrostatic Drive made the Hydro 656 a modern machine perfect for pto work such as square baling and forage harvesting because while field conditions changed the pto speed remained constant.
