What is in this Issue?

Toy Times Comments

June is our summer issue.  We will look at summer work in the field and at the fair.   Our feature articles focus on tractor pulling and summer harvesting.   Main features on pulling include Dave Tallon's Tips on making 1/64 scale pick up truck pullers, Pedaling Around Pennsylvania by Michael Henry on making an IH 1066 Pedal Puller and Collectors Workmanship by Jason Rhodes on making a 1/16 scale Cub Cadet 682 Garden Puller.  Our Summer Field work features are pictures of dairy farm displays, Down on the Model Farm on making a 1/64 hayfield and Gordy Schultz's Literature Rack on FMC Pea Harvesters.

I am glad to announce that in May all of the 20th Anniversary Toy Tractor Times Allis-Chalmers 7030's were shipped out.  Thank to all of those who ordered the AC 7030 and waited so patiently for its delivery.  We have had many complements on the tractor and particularly its box.

There has been plenty of speculation on what the 2004 Toy Tractor Times Tractor will be, on Toy Tractor Show's Toy Talk.   I will give some hints in the July issue on the 2004 model.  The cover of the August issue will announce the model.  The 2004 TTT Tractor will be a 1/16 model,  the second in the 1970's series and the 20th tractor in the full series dating back to 1986.   You can see all 19 TTT tractors at: http://toytractortimes.com/toytractortimestractors.htm .  This years model will be produced by Ertl.  The TTT 1970's series started with the Allis-Chalmers 7030 in 2003 and will include the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 TTT tractors.  In 2008 TTT will start a new series of 1980's tractors.

Next month TTT will take a look at wheat harvesting.  If you would like to join the TTT author list or share an article please contact  Michael Henry at michaelghenry@yahoo.com.

Until the next "Times"

About The Cover: Pulling tractors are an interesting variation for farm toy collectors.  They are a great way to customize a favorite farm toy or tractor brand.  With the right parts any model can be supped up.  I found this Oliver 1555 at the Morgantown, KY toy show.  It was painted a metallic shade of Oliver Meadow Green.   Dressed up with weights, turbo breather, engine guard, roll bar and puller wheels it is a tough looking Oliver.
