| The Fall Farm Show schedule starts early this year with the Farm Progress Show kicking of at the end of August. Normally TTS-Times reports on Fall Farm Show toys in September but like the shows the toys are out early. In recent years Fall Farm Show Editions in 1/16 and 1/64 scale have gained collectors attention. CaseIH has offered special edition combines and tractors since the 1985. John Deere probably best caught collectors attention in 1999 when it launched its specially packaged series of 1/16 and 1/64 Fall Farm Show Editions. The year 2003 had the widest variety of models for the 50th Anniversary of the Farm Progress Show. Scale Models offered tractors for each decade of the show with tractors from 1953, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1993 and 2003. This years selection is smaller but like each year the latest and greatest tractors are being offered by AGCO, Case-New Holland and John Deere. Equipment manufactures use the fall shows to promote their new tractors and the farm toys are a big part of that marketing. Expect a strong selection of new toys for 2005 and 2006 as each company introduces new generation tractors such as the AGCO DT-240, an upgraded CaseIH Magnum and New Holland TG from CNH and the 8030 series from John Deere. | |
