J&S Farm Toys 1/64 Farm Toy Builders

J&S Custom Steiger ST-310 Panther III with Sun Flower Disk

If you follow custom and scratch built 1/64 farm toys you have probably heard the name J&S Farm Toys this summer.  The name J&S is a joint venture between Jason Jeffers and John Sampson.  The two well know builders and displayers teamed up early this year.

Jason Jeffer's hillside wheat farm was featured on the cover of the July Toy Tractor Times.  John Sampson was featured in an article in the August Toy Farmer.  The two friends have worked in the farm toy hobby for a number of years now.  Mainly focusing on building custom and scratch built farm toys for their displays in the National Farm Toy Show each year.  John and Jason decided to combine their talents to form a toy building business.  They wanted to build 1/64 toys collectors wanted for their displays.   The J&S team sought to fill gaps in the hobby not produced and for a reasonable price so the general display enthusiasts could afford their models.

One of J&S's first projects was 1/64 ATVs and lawn and garden tractors.  Both of these items have been requested for years by displayers.   J&S only charges $5 each for the ATVs and lawn tractors.  Jason and John sell out of these models every time they attend a toy show.

J&S Scratch Built 1/64 ATVs and Lawn & Garden Tractors

J&S will build any thing a collector wants.  If the collector can provide pictures and measurements of a piece of farm equipment Jason and John will build it.  Between the two partners they have scratch built tractors, combines, trucks and all sorts of implements.  Their favorite building medium is plastic resin.  This allows them to sculpt and shape a piece with as much detail as possible.

J&S custom Steiger and scratch built Sun Flower disk

This summer J&S has focused on filling orders for tillage equipment this summer.  One customer requested the 4wd he and disk he used on his farm.  Those items happened to be a Steiger Panther III ST-310 and Sun Flower disk.  J&S took an Ertl Cougar and painted to reflect a Panther, added single tires and Panther ST-310 decals ordered through Bossen Implement ( Bossen's new CaseIH decal line is featured in this issue of TTT).  The disk was completely built from scratch.  As you can see above the 4wd and disk turned out very well.

Below are several projects that J&S has built for their customers this year.  They have several new projects including a combine in the works for this winter.  If you are attending the 2004 National Toy Show this November you can look Jason and John up as they will be entering a joint display in this years display contest.   You can also e-mail J&S Farm Toys at toyfarmer2@msn.com .  Please remember when you order scratch built piece like the models pictured in this article it may take several months before it can be completed and delivered.  It is always worth the wait.
