Literature collecting is such are large field it is hard to begin to narrow your focus. My advice is to collect brochures that interest you. I like tractors, harvesters and implements of all sizes and brands. One reason that I like collecting literature is to look at the pictures of farm equipment of the past and in our modern times. Tractor makers always have the perfect picture of your favorite tractor or combine in action. If you like pictures of farm equipment one of the best places to look is in calendars. Many tractor dealerships give out calendars highlighting their brand. These calendars are put out by the big three tractor makers each year. AGCO offers calendars for its AGCO brands, Massey-Ferguson and Challenger. CNH offered three calendars in 2004. There is a CaseIH Farmall calendar, CaseIH product line calendar and a New Holland product line calendar. John Deere for many years has offered themed calendars. Here is a check list of the 2004 calendars offered by the big three. Find your favorite brand and enjoy the pictures for the next 11 months. |
| AGCO's 2004 calendar features many of its brands in the field. You will find AGCO, Fendt, Hesston, New Idea, Ag-Chem, Hesston, White, Spra-Coupe and many more. |
| AGCO has a Massey-Ferguson brand calendar out for 2004. This calendar pictures MF products from the big 9690 combine working with the 8280 tractor to the new 6475 mid-sized tractor to the compact 1428V tractor. |
| AGCO's Challenger brand teamed up with ClaasOhoma makers of the Lexion combine for a 2004 calendar. This yellow brand calendar pictures everything from the 500 hp CAT MT865 tractor to the Challenger Hay Line. There are several pictures of Lexion combines harvesting corn, rice, wheat and soy beans. |
| The Farmall name is back. CaseIH has brought back the Farmall name for its DX tractor line. To help celebrate the Farmall heritage CaseIH collected pictures from Farmall owners to create a special 2004 "The Spirit of Farmall" calendar. The special calendar pictures restored Farmalls and old black and white photographs. The time range of Farmalls stretches from the 1924 Regular to the 1958 660 in the calendar. |
| I have heard many red fans ask if CaseIH offered a regular calendar for 2004. The answer is yes. If Farmall tractors are not your thing then pick up the CaseIH calendar. This calendar features new red machines like the STX 500 Steiger, AFX 8010 combine, MXU 125 Maxxum, ASM 1200 Corn Planter, SPX 4410 Sprayer and more CaseIH products. |
| New Holland's 2004 Calendar features many pictures of its tractors, combines, tillage, seeding and haying implements. The pictures spread out across the bottom of each month just like photo's on the cover. |

John Deere is best known for its theme calendars. Over the years John Deere has featured memorabilia, farm dogs, mail boxes and many other themes. Deere calendars could fill an entire "Literature Rack" article. In 2004 John Deere highlights countries around the world using John Deere tractors, including Germany, Brazil, China, Canada, Mexico, India, Spain, The United States, South Africa, Australia, France and Argentina. Because I know that we have Canadian and Australian readers I will include the months highlighting both countries in the calendar.
