Toy Times Comments

Fall harvest offers all sorts of possibilities in farm toys.  Combines, grain carts, and tractors.  This month T.T.T brings you fall harvest displays, custom projects, grain cart variations and more.  We will also look at new trends in farm toys and the advancement of farm equipment literature from print to CD.

The order period for the 2004 Toy Tractor Times IH 1086 draws to a close on November  15, 2004.  The tractors ordered from August 15 through November 15 will determine the numbered of T.T.T IH 1086's produced.  After the 15th the 1086 will be gone so order today at www.toytractortimes.com/ttt1086order.htm.  The IH 1086 will also be the second T.T.T Rick Larsen Edition tractor.  Rick Larsen founded T.T.T in 1983 and the Anniversary Series in 1986.   Three chrome Allis-Chalmers 7030 (Ertl stock# 1611x) replicas were produced in 2003 to honor Rick. The IH 1086 will be the second chrome Rick Larsen Edition.  The chrome 1086's will be given to T.T.T authors and are available through the T.T.T dealer order program.

Combines 2004

By Jason Hasert

 CaseIH AFX 8010

Many collectors are interested in specifications  of the real machines that their toys replicate in 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64.  The world wide web can put these specs in front of you with the click of a mouse.

Tractors are the most popular collectors piece in the farm toy hobby, although combines run a strong second.   There are several classes and types of combines.  Ertl, Scale Models and Norscott offer a wide variety of toy combines for collectors.  The toys are well crafted and look great on shelves and displays.  Beyond name brands and decals combines offer different types of threshing systems, bin capacities, unloading rates, horsepowers and header sizes.   If you want to know more about your toy combines real life capabilities you need to look no farther than the Original Equipment Manufacturers websites.

Below I have compiled a list of direct links to the 2004 combine offerings of AGCO, Case-New Holland, Claas Omaha and John Deere.  Happy Harvesting.
